Under the motto "Materials in the circular economy and energy transition", the 21st Thuringian Materials Day addressed current topics that have social, scientific and economic relevance with several keynote speeches. Around 130 representatives from science and business met and gave insights into the latest findings regarding sustainable materials and the future of the circular economy.

The POPAI DA-CH Awards will start their 2023th round in 13. This year, there are again 15 categories to choose from for the POPAI DA-CH Award, which reflect the entire spectrum of activities at the point of sale. PAPACKS® received two nominations for the innovations submitted in the packaging sector.

We are pleased to announce that PAPACKS has been nominated for the BRCGS Food Safety Award (Europe) in the Site of the Year category.

The award is presented to a BRCGS certified site that has demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining its BRCGS program and has used the BRCGS certification to improve or grow its operations.

We are proud to announce that in 2023 PAPACKS won the ultimate packaging award — the WorldStar Award in two categories Medical & Pharmaceutical Products and Packaging Materials & Components for PAPACKS® HEMP CAPS.

A special thanks goes to the BUSHPLANET GROUP, Austria's largest head and grow shop as our customer for the joint packaging product, the development and production team of PAPACKS® and our hemp supplier Ukrainian Hemp®.

Packaging expert Tahsin Dag uncovered the tricks of colorful Christmas packaging and referred to the problematic disposal and return of the packaging. Special prints and 3D effects in the design not only make the packaging more expensive for consumers, but also more harmful to the environment. At the same time, the product content is reduced due to the special shape of the packaging.

The consumer industry is under pressure: consumers want less plastic and the state is threatening a plastic tax. Tahsin Dag likes to compare himself to Elon Musk, he even calls his factory "Gigafactory". Except that he makes yoghurt pots there and not electric cars. The 39-year-old is burning with ambition and wants to change an established industry with his company Papacks: the packaging and food industry.

In cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), it was possible for a total of 16 entrepreneurs to take part in the School of Sustainability & Green Innovations for the first time. These included entrepreneurs and politicians from Jordan who traveled more than 4.000 kilometers to take part in the sustainability workshop.

The fifth largest cinema in Germany, the CINEDOM in Cologne, starts as a pioneer with the use of environmentally friendly nacho bowls, Made in Germany by PAPACKS, thus saving over 1,25 tons of plastic a year. A prime example that invites all cinemas to join in and avoid single-use plastic in the cinema!

PAPACKS® developed fiber cast transport packaging together with the cosmetics giant COTY® and the premium bottle manufacturer HEINZ‐GLAS, which exceeded the expectations of the partners/customers. Perfectly protected premium bottles, but packaged without plastic, sustainable, recyclable and compostable: The traditional company HEINZ-GLAS is taking the next step towards a more environmentally friendly future. The transport of the exclusive glass products is even safer and plastic can be completely dispensed with.

The Plastic Waste Free World Conference & Expo is the world's largest event dedicated to discussing material innovations, technologies and circular economy solutions to create a world free of plastic waste. This year's trade fair was held for the first time in North America, Atlanta - at the forefront: PAPACKS®.

PAPACKS supported a special international poster project against plastic pollution in the oceans at the VHS Cologne: OCEAN POSTERS against plastic pollution. The international project has been selected for the United Nations World Oceans Day website – a special honor

The Dieline Awards, now in their 13th year, is one of the world's largest packaging design competitions. The Dieline Awards 2022 recognizes the very best and brightest designers and agencies designing product packaging around the world and raises awareness of the tremendous value of branded packaging design.

300 packaging professionals from 37 countries came together to celebrate the winners of the WorldStar Award 2022. The award ceremony was part of the WPO activities in Milan (Italy), during the IPACK IMA 2022. PAPACKS received 4 awards in the packaging categories and 2 awards in the special category sustainability.

Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. (NASDAQ: KDP) and sustainable packaging manufacturer PAPACKS, based in Cologne, Germany, today announce the start of a partnership to develop a recyclable and compostable mono-material paper bottle made from renewable resources.

Papacks Sales GmbH, Cologne, is expanding its new location for cast fiber packaging in Arnstadt, Thuringia, which went into operation in March 2021.

PAPACKS® IMG - Injection Molding Granules -
is an injection molding granulate made of 100% organic composition that is suitable for use in conventional injection molding machines, is recyclable and compostable.

Innovation PAPACKS® FIBER BOTTLE made from natural fibers with PAPACKS® ORGANIC COATING for barrier protection and PAPACKS® IMG as a solution for closure technology.

With the construction of GIGAFACTORY 2, the capacities of PAPACKS® at the production site in Arnstadt / Thuringia will be doubled and around 30 additional jobs will be created at the site.

With the Refill CAPS, PAPACKS® wins the German Packaging Award 2021 in the sustainability category. For 30 years, the German Packaging Award has been connecting people across all industries from the entire value chain of the packaging world and is the largest award of its kind in all of Europe.

PAPACKS® wins the Gold Award for the special environmental award at this year's POPAI DA-CH Awards 2021 for the overall sustainable refill CAPS concept.
